A $14 million settlement has been reached between former patients and children of a Canadian fertility doctor accused of using his own or unknown sperm to impregnate those who used his clinic.
The doctor â Norman Barwin â worked at two clinics in Ottawa, Ontario, with some of the claims dating back to the 1970s.
Some couples who were told that the male partner s sperm would be used were unknowingly given random samples, and in some cases, the doctor s own.
