PARKERSBURG The Parkersurg Area Community Foundation has awarded $43,990 to local agencies from COVID-19 emergency funding.
Residents, businesses, foundations and organizations have donated more than $361,000 to the foundation’s Safety Net Fund and Hunger Fund. Since March, the foundation has awarded $302,000 in grants to nonprofit organizations to address COVID-19 related needs, including $43,990 in new grants in its sixth round of pandemic response.
Several of the recent grants were awarded through partnership with the Sisters Health Foundation, as noted with an asterisk in the following list of agencies that received funding in the sixth round of grants:

Police Confirms Arrest of 30 Sierra Leoneans with Liberian Voter ID Card in Gbarpolu

MONROVIA – Police Spokesperson Moses Carter has confirmed that the police have arrested 30 Sierra Leoneans with Liberian voter registration cards in the troubled town of Nomodatahum Town, Gbarpolu County.
Speaking to
FrontPage Africa via phone on Monday night, Mr. Carter said those arrested are currently being questioned by the police and officers of the Liberia Immigration Services (LIS).
Prior to Carter’s confirmation, it was alleged that the Sierra Leoneans were behind the arm bush and seizure of the ballot boxes on Sunday.
