Thefts from vehicles
Property was taken from two vehicles in the 4200 block of East West Highway between noon and 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 24.
Money and property were taken from three vehicles between Feb. 20 and 25. Two thefts happened in the 11100 block of Cedarwood Drive and the other happened in the 10600 block of Weymouth Street.
Money and property were taken from four vehicles between Feb. 14 and 26. Affected streets included Benalder Drive, the area of Little Falls Parkway and Massachusetts Avenue, North Park Avenue, and Chevy Chase Drive. Force was reported in two cases.

Clatashia L. Jemine 22, of the 2700 block of Eschol Avenue, Zion, is accused of driving while license suspended, no insurance, leaving the scene of a crash, and was arrested Feb. 15 at Route 21 and Route 41, Gurnee. Bond was set at $2,000.

Pharmaceutical manufacturer Civica Inc. will invest $124.5M to establish its first in-house pharmaceutical manufacturing operation in Petersburg, Virginia. The company plans to create 186 new jobs.
Civica is a nonprofit generic drug company launched in 2018 to address the problem of chronic generic drug shortages and high drug prices, and a key partner for the new U.S. government-funded partnership with Phlow Corporation, Medicines for All Institute, and AMPAC Fine Chemicals.
Through this partnership, Phlow executed a $354M contract with the U.S. Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) to produce essential medications using advanced manufacturing processes from the Medicines for All Institute based at the College of Engineering at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU).
