NORTHGLENN, Colo. A suspect is in custody after a woman was struck and killed by an SUV Saturday, the Northglenn Police Department (NPD) said in a news release.
Officers said they responded to a report of a black SUV driving recklessly, ultimately striking a pedestrian in the 10400 block of Washington Street at around 11:40 a.m.
After witnessing the SUV run into a fence north of Muriel Drive and Washington Street, NPD said they were able to block the vehicle.
Police took one man into custody. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, NPD said.

NORTHGLENN, Colo. â A female pedestrian was killed when police said a reckless SUV driver struck her before crashing into a fence in Northglenn Saturday morning. The male driver was arrested.
It happened around 11:40 a.m. in the 10400 block of Washington Street.
Officers responding to the crash spotted the SUV in the fence at Muriel Drive and Washington Street. Officers blocked the SUV and took one male suspect into custody, according to a Northglenn police release.
The female victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not been released.

NORTHGLENN, Colo. Two suspects have been arrested after police said they rammed multiple police cars before leading officers on a chase in Northglenn on Wednesday.
Officers were called to the 11200 block of Huron Street when the alarm at a business in the area went off, according to the Northglenn Police Department.
When they arrived, police said the driver of a four-door Chevy Cruze rammed multiple police vehicles in the parking lot and then fled northbound on Huron Street.
