COURTESY OF THE NORFOLK COUNTY REGISTRY OF DEEDS
It is not lost upon folks that America is opening up from various COVID-19 orders and restrictions as we celebrate the birth of the United States of America on the Fourth of July. There have been four presidents born in Norfolk County which was established by law in 1793. This fact has led to the designation of Norfolk County as the “County of Presidents.”
John Adams the second president of the United States, who hailed from Norfolk County, once said about celebrating the birth of this great nation, “It will be celebrated… with pomp and parade… bonfires and illuminations from one end of this continent to the other.”

Already dozens of events across the county have been announced in the run-up to this year’s Norfolk Day.
The annual celebration takes place every year on July 27 and is spearheaded by the Eastern Daily Press, Norwich Evening News, and BBC Radio Norfolk.

Shouting about all things that are great about Norfolk, this year the special day falls on a Tuesday and we will be encouraging anyone who wants to hold an event to do so either on the day, the weekend before, or even during the days that follow.
