Four healthy piglets were born in March. This is an important breakthrough for the country’s animal cloning sector, proving its science and technology’s role and position in the region and the world. Dr Phạm Doãn Lân, deputy head of the National Institute of Animal Sciences under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development talks with Vân Nguyễn & Minh Phương on the importance and prospects of this cloning technology.

Source: https://vnuhcm.edu.vn/ HCM CITY Universities in the country are using several kinds of evaluative methods to make decisions on student admission this year, including competency assessment examinations.   Việt Nam National University-Ho Chi Minh City (VNUHCM), for example, will continue organising competency assessment examinations for its member universities and other universities that are not VNUHCM members. The examination will be held on March 28 at venues in HCM City, Đà Nẵng City, and Bến Tre, An Giang, Khánh Hòa, Bạc Liêu and Đắk Lắk provinces.

Photo courtesy of the university HCM CITY A project on quality assurance and governance has improved management and training at the HCM City University of Education, the university’s vice rector Huỳnh Văn Sơn said at a conference held on January 7 in the city. “The project has improved the awareness of the university’s lecturers and managers about quality assurance in training programmes and higher education governance,” Sơn said. The staff learned from experts from other universities in the country, he added.   As part of the project, the university developed a plan to improve the professional capacity of lecturers. The university held training courses, including ones on establishing and operating a quality assurance system.

VNA/VNS Photo  HÀ NỘI All five students in the Vietnamese team at the International distributed Physics Olympiad (IdPhO) 2020 have won medals, with four silver and one bronze. The silver medalists are Trang Đào Công Minh (12th grader), Vũ Ngô Hoàng Dương (10th grader), and Lê Minh Hoàng (10th grader) from the High School for Gifted Students under Việt Nam National University – Hà Nội, and Nguyễn Khắc Hải Long, a student at the Hà Nội National University of Education’s High School for Gifted Students.
