With Connecticut poised to significantly rollback coronavirus restrictions Friday, some health experts and medical professionals worry that the state might be charging ahead too fast, too soon especially as its COVID-19 positivity rate shows signs of increasing once again.
When Gov. Ned Lamont announced in early March that he would soon ease control measures, Connecticut had shown a steady decline in COVID-19 positivity rate, cases and hospitalizations. Since then, however, those numbers have plateaued. About 400 residents are still hospitalized with the disease and the state’s positivity rate has ticked up slightly over the past 10 days.
