Park Rapids Planning Commission resets priorities

The Park Rapids Planning Commission took a first look Monday at the city’s Comprehensive Plan, which is coming due for review, and reconsidered the priorities of its list of zoning ordinance projects.
In addition to their regular meeting, the commission also held a workshop to discuss these updates.
City Planner Andrew Mack said the current comprehensive plan was put together in 2008, so the city is 12 years into a 20 year plan, and updating it may be a 10-year process.

The Park Rapids City Council Tuesday swore in three officials who were re-elected on Nov. 3.
Taking the oath of office were council members Liz Stone and Bob Wills and Mayor Ryan Leckner.
Every community has its leaders, influencers, and examples of gifted and giving people. The greater Kenosha County area has always had more than its share of these people. But, time is relentless, and the past year has seen a number of these exemplars left us.
The light of our community is dimmed by their loss. This is, by no means, a complete list of those people, but here are some of those giving and influential people our community has lost in the past 12 months.

Two-term trustee for the Village of Paddock Lake, Gary Kaddatz passed away Dec. 31, 2019 at age 68.
‘Nancy & Newman’ morning show at Bob 94.9 has ended: report

The “Nancy & Newman” morning show, an iHeartMedia Country show on Bob 94.9 WRBT Harrisburg for the past 20 years, is no more, according to a report.
Nancy Ryan’s departure is part of iHeartMedia’s ongoing layoffs, Radio Insight confirmed. And, Bob Newman’s status “is up in the air.”
Newman is listed as the morning host, but there’s no clarity on whether he will return to the morning show. He published a comment to his Facebook page, saying “You Are Being Lied To” without explaining what he meant in specific terms.
