Following much discussion in the community about locating a physicians’ office in a residential area, the Cadiz-Trigg County Planning Commission has given a favorable recommendation to the Cadiz City Council to amend the text of the City of Cadiz Code of Ordinances. The decision came during a special-called business meeting on Thursday at the Cadiz Renaissance Center. A public hearing just before the meeting included comments from more than a dozen residents speaking both for and against a change to the text of a section of the ordinance. The proposed change would add the words “physicians’ offices” to a list of conditional uses for two residential districts in the city, and it would pave the way for Dr. Vaishali Patel and Dr. Harshul Patel to establish an office in what was once a flower shop on Main Street.
