Photo: RNZ / Richard Tindiller The Gloriavale Leavers Support Trust complained about Faithful Pilgrim to the council in August. Trust spokesperson Liz Gregory said Faithful Pilgrim knew of offending by teacher Just Standfast - who later admitted a charge of sexual conduct with a child in 2019 - but did nothing about it. Gregory said that particular offending happened in 2012, and the father of the victim claimed that at the time he was told by Faithful Pilgrim it was not Standfast s first offence.

Everybody needs to be vigilant - Port Hills fire chief © RNZ / Nathan McKinnon Fire crews continue to kept watch in Christchurch as the potential for fire on the Port Hills remains. Two fire crews kept watch overnight. Fire and Emergency yesterday successfully contained a blaze after sparks from a construction site started a scrub fire that led to the evacuation of 16 homes in Clifton. There were no flareups last night and the evacuees have returned home. There s more hot and dry weather on the way for the city. Fire and Emergency assistant area manager Mike Bowden told Morning Report there were some drone teams out from 5am surveying the site.
