RenewableUK is urging the UK Government to commit to a specific deployment target for onshore wind of 30GW by 2030 in the run-up to COP26 in November.
In “Raising the bar: the world-leading energy commitments the UK should make ahead of COP26” the association said the Prime Minister’s new target of slashing emissions by 78% by 2035, and reaching net zero emissions by 2050, can only be achieved by setting out clear milestones to be met by 2030.
It details the economic opportunities in renewable energy development in the UK, and the “international significance” of the UK clarifying its clean energy targets ahead of COP26.

(Cannon Beach, Oregon) – Yet another signpost towards normality is coming from the Oregon coast as Cannon Beach gets ready for the return of its famed Spring Unveiling Arts Festival, happening April 30 – May 2. Galleries are hosting smaller events – but these happenings are returning with popular artists as guests.
The latest works will be on display throughout Cannon Beach with numerous artists all over town.
Plenty of modifications will be in order for this Oregon coast favorite, however, with limited crowd sizes, masks required and there will not be the usual large receptions with food and wine as in the past. But the art will be as engaging as ever.

Salad supplier to the mults Natures Way Foods has unveiled a multimillion-pound extension to its West Sussex HQ as it seeks to grow its share of the salads market.
Constructed during the Covid-19 pandemic and set to come online by next week, the extension will grow the Selsey site by more than a quarter to 12,400 sq m – a move it claimed would make it the largest bagged salad facility in the UK.
