Uncut Gems co-director Benny Safdie is all set to star alongside Rachel McAdams in the film adaptation of author Judy Blume’s classic novel Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret.
Written and directed by Kelly Fremon Craig (The Edge of Seventeen), the movie will also feature Ant-Man star Abby Ryder Fortson and Oscar winner Kathy Bates.

The 35-year-old actor-and-director will play Herb, the father of the titular character in writer-director Kelly Fremon Craig s adaptation of Judy Blume s best-selling novel.
Producer Fremon Craig said: âBenny has a truly amazing talent for naturalism and Iâm elated to have his collaboration on this film.
Lionsgate s Erin Westerman added: Benny is an incredibly soulful actor and storyteller and a true mensch. Weâre honored heâs agreed to join this iconic story as Margaretâs father.
Benny joins previously-announced cast members including Ant-Man star Abby Ryder Forston as Margaret, Rachel McAdams as Herb s wife Barbara, and Kathy Bates as the titular character s grandmother, Sylvia.
