Arguably the nation’s top junior college prospect has narrowed down his list.
On Friday, South Plains College (Texas) guard/forward Rivaldo Soares announced a top six of DePaul, Florida, Oklahoma State, Oregon, St. John’s and San Diego State:
The 6-foot-6, 190-pound wing is a priority target for the Oregon Ducks and Dana Altman, as he could slide into the role vacated by NBA-bound guard Chris Duarte.
And it’s easy to see why the Soares-to-Duarte projection would be so seamless.
Duarte was a junior college prospect in his own right and was named the national player of the year.

Central Point-native Nathan Bittle selected to prestigious McDonald s All-American Game
A top-10 recruit in the class of 2021, Nathan Bittle adds to his already lengthy resume with a selection to the McDonald s All-American Game.

CENTRAL POINT, Ore. For a high school basketball player ranked ninth on ESPN s 2021 rankings, a selection to the McDonald s All-American game is almost expected. But for a southern Oregon-native, it s unprecedented.
Nathan Bittle, a 6-foot-11 center and University of Oregon commit is the first southern Oregonian to be playing for the prestigious team since South Medford s Kyle Singler in 2007. Bittle played three seasons at Crater High School before transferring to Prolific Prep in California when the Oregon basketball season was canceled (it has since been postponed to start in late spring of 2021).
