A man from Hook who assaulted two people at McDonald s has been given a community order. Michael James Keens, of Hazel Coppice, pleaded guilty to assaulting Bikalpa Gurung and Jamie Eccott at the restaurant in Basingstoke town centre. He further admitted damaging a moped box belonging to Marcio Cantarutti in the attack on October 27, 2020. Appearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court last week, the 30-year-old was given a 12-month community order. He must undergo treatment for his alcohol dependency, participate in 20 days of rehabilitation activities and carry out 100 hours of unpaid work. He was also ordered to pay a total of £70 in compensation and costs of £20.
