Cases in the Newark area include an assault on a female police officer and drink and dangerous drivers. All cases below. Nottingham Magistrates Court. (25504691) A MAN who beat up a female police officer was jailed for eight weeks at Nottingham Magistrates Court. Alistair Paterson, 35, of Chatham Court, Newark, admitted the assault and has to pay the officer £100 in compensation. Paterson further admitted stealing detergent from a Co-op, cleaning products from Poundland and a second theft from that store of dishwasher tablets. He has to pay Co-op £12 compensation.
