GEORGE NEWS - George Hospital will cease to be a vaccination site at the end of the Sisonke trial, during which health care workers received Covid-19 vaccinations.
According to Western Cape Health Department spokesperson Nadia Ferreira, a vaccination site opened at Harry Comay Hospital last week and the other sites that have been announced for the George sub-district are Thembalethu CDC (Ngakani Street), George Central Clinic (Progress Street) and Uniondale Hospital.

GEORGE NEWS - The first vaccinations in the Garden Route against Covid-19 are set to take place tomorrow morning, Wednesday 3 March, at George Hospital.
Nadia Ferreira, district spokesperson for the Western Cape Health Department, confirmed that the district has received its first batch of vaccines. Selected healthcare workers from both the public and private sector who have registered to be part of the vaccination programme will be vaccinated during phase 1 of the vaccine roll-out, she said.
Premier Alan Winde said in a statement yesterday that the first vaccine in the province was administered on 17 February, and that Province has set a target of rolling out its full allocation of just over 13 000 doses within two weeks.
