German content company Leonine Studios has secured an all-rights distribution deal for Germany and Austria for three forthcoming Lionsgate films, starring actors including Cate Blanchett and Helen Mirren.
Based on the video game from Gearbox and 2K, Borderlands, which stars Blanchett alongside Jack Black and Jamie Lee Curtis, follows Lilith (Blanchett), an infamous outlaw with a mysterious past as she reluctantly returns to her home planet of Pandora to find a missing young woman.
The screenplay is written by Craig Mazin (Chernobyl, The Hangover franchise), with co-writer Eli Roth (Hostel) directing.

Many folks locally know about the momentous day in September 1952 when presidential candidates Adlai Stevenson and Dwight D. Eisenhower trekked to Dodge County to speak at the Plowville agricultural event being held in an alfalfa field between Kasson and Dodge Center.
But fewer people might be aware of a side trip taken by Eisenhower and Stevenson that day to visit polio patients at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.
