H E Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Russian Federation Sheikh Ahmed bin Nasser Al Thani inaugurated yesterday a session, held via video conference, of the Qatari Businessmen Association on the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum and the Russian-Qatari business opportunities during the forum that will take place in June. The session saw participation from Chairman of the Association Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani, and a number of the association’s members.

Qatar named guest country for SPIEF 2021 in Russia

The Qatari delegation is expected to be among the largest business delegations to attend the upcoming St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) 2021 in Russia in June, the Qatari Media Relations Office at the SPIEF has said, reiterating Qatar’s commitment to expanding the bilateral economic ties with the Russian Federation and expanding them to new horizons.
The delegation includes more than 50 Qatari organisations with businessmen, highranking officials and political figures, heads of authorities and civil society organisations.
Qatar has been named as the guest country for the event. Within the framework of the SPIEF business programme, discussions will be held on the industrial, economic, investment, technological, educational, cultural and sports potential of the State of Qatar.
Qatar-Russia relations are set to reach new heights as Qatar prepares to partake in Russia’s leading business event, the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), as the guest nation this year.
Qatar’s participation at the prestigious global forum will cement its business and economic ties with Russia, with a plethora of new partnership agreements expected to be finalized between the two countries.
According to the Qatari Media Relations Office at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the Qatari delegation is expected to be amongst the largest business delegations yet to be formed for an external forum of this type, reiterating Qatar’s commitment to expanding the bilateral economic ties with the Russian Federation and expanding them to new horizons.
Hassan Nasser Al-Thani appeared at the Old Bailey via video link from Doha and denied one count of causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving after the death of Charles Roberts, 66, in 2019.
