STUDENTS and staff at a Bolton school are celebrating after they managed to collect over 2,000 tubs of gravy following a charity appeal. Urban Outreach, which helps disadvantaged, vulnerable and complex adults and young people in Bolton, launched its ‘Christmas Dinner on Jesus’ appeal back in October this year. The charity is aiming to create around 2,000 hampers full of ingredients for a classic Christmas dinner with different groups assigned an item to collect. After choosing Urban Outreach as their chosen charity, Bolton St Catherine’s Academy (BCSA) in Harwood, were given the task of collecting gravy granules. Year groups were encouraged to donate and collect as many gravy granules tubs as they could over two weeks with an initial target of 1,000.
