KARACHI: The number of Covid-19 cases had increased by 30 per cent last year during the Eid holidays, said Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Wednesday, making an appeal to the people to stay home on the coming Eid.
“I would suggest to all the people to stay home and enjoy your Eid with your immediate family members. This is the only way to contain the virus and save others,” the CM said while presiding over a meeting of the Provincial Task Force on Coronavirus at CM House.

KARACHI: In a major relaxation for restaurant owners, the Sindh government has allowed the resumption of takeaway service during the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays with strict COVID-19 SOPs in place.
This was decided in a meeting of the Provincial Task Force on Coronavirus here at the Chief Minister House which was chaired by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.
Participants were briefed on the latest pandemic situation across the province and the vaccination process.
CM orders boosting Expo Centre daily vaccination capacity to 50,000

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has directed the provincial health department to acquire another hall at the mega vaccination facility at the Expo Centre Karachi and enhance the vaccination centre’s capacity from 25,000 vaccinations to 50,000 vaccinations per day.
The CM issued the direction to this effect while presiding over a meeting of the provincial task force on coronavirus at the CM House on Monday. Sindh Health Minister Dr Azra Pechuho informed the meeting said that as per the decision of the chief minister, a mass vaccination centre with a capacity of 25,000 vaccinations per day had been established at one of the halls of the Expo Centre. To this, the CM said that only restricting people at their homes was not enough as the government had to make them secure by launching mass vaccination drives.

KARACHI: Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Monday directed the health department to take measures to increase the capacity of the mega vaccination centre at Expo Centre from 25,000 to 50,000 people per day.
“I want health department to develop the vaccination capacity of 100,000 per day . this will help secure our population through a mass vaccination system,” he said while presiding over a meeting of the Provincial Task Force on Coronavirus here at CM House.
The meeting was attended by provincial ministers Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho, Saeed Ghani, Nasir Shah, Jam Ikram Dharejo, Adviser Murtaza Wahab, Parliamentary Secretary Qasim Siraj Soomro, Chief Secretary Mumtaz Shah, IG Sindh Mushtaq Mahar, Home Secretary Usman Chachar, Commissioner Naveed Shaikh and others.
