Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago and the firm s philanthropic arm, the Kindness Foundation, are giving $40,000 to local food pantries in place of their annual companywide holiday party this month.
Each of the 19 participating offices chose a 501(c)(3) organization from their local community to support. The pantries include: Northern Illinois Food Bank, Lakeview Pantry, Beyond Hunger, Interfaith Action of Evanston, Beacon Place, Greater Chicago Food Depository, Maine Township Food Pantry, Schaumburg Township Food Pantry, Northfield Township Food Pantry, West Deerfield Township Food Pantry, New Trier Township Food Pantry, Catholic Charities Casa Catalina, Elmhurst-Yorkfield Food Pantr

The holidays won t be the same at senior living centers this year because of pandemic mitigations prohibiting visitors and gatherings, but the centers staffs have found other ways to bring the spirit.
