CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - The 2021 NFL Draft is just two days away and Northeast Ohio is excited to be in the national spotlight this weekend. That included Cleveland Browns owners Jimmy and Dee Haslam.
We could not be more fired up about the draft here at the Browns but also just hosting the draft here in Cleveland,” Dee Haslam said. “Just a great community, the national exposure has just been tremendous. It is so much fun to wake up and watch Good Morning Football and hear them nonstop talking about Cleveland. That is just the best thing and to see the beautiful views.”

CLEVELAND, Ohio One of the more exciting elements of the 2021 NFL Draft landing in Cleveland is one of the simplest.
“It is so much fun to wake up and watch ‘Good Morning Football’ (on NFL Network) and hear them nonstop talking about Cleveland,” Browns owner Dee Haslam said on a Zoom call with local media on Tuesday.
Cleveland has already started taking center stage in the NFL world, days before the giant stage constructed with Lake Erie in the background becomes the place where the football world turns its attention beginning with Thursday night’s first round.

Dee and Jimmy Haslam have witnessed the transformation of downtown Cleveland as the city prepares for one of the biggest events on the NFL calendar, and they can t wait for the rest of the world to see it, too.
The beauties of their stadium and city will be on full display this weekend as Cleveland hosts the 2021 NFL Draft, which will take place Thursday through Saturday on the lakefront beside FirstEnergy Stadium. The construction of the stage, massive video boards and array of lights are almost at full completion, and the Haslams are eager to see how the draft brings out the best of the city.

The former Lions quarterback and current ESPN analyst gave an impassioned plea to the Lions to refrain from what he, in his opinion, says is a mistake Detroit consistently makes taking skill players too early in the NFL draft.
“Someone tell me the organization, (in) the NFL in its history, that has built itself a consistent winner on skill position players in the draft early? It’s never been done. It doesn’t happen in football, okay?” he said.

Good Morning Football on Tuesday, Murray was asked whether he has any input on selections and whether GM Steve Keim considers the QB s opinion when making choices. I do believe I think I have an influence in it, Murray responded. I don t know why I wouldn t. If you ve got a guy at quarterback, you trust him and you want him to be the face of the franchise for a lot of years, I think he should have an influence. Everything is technically built around the quarterback. I think I have that relationship with Steve and Kliff (Kingsbury). I m excited to see what we do on Thursday.
