FVTC plans for more in-person learning this fall

Feb 25, 2021 2:09 PM Fox Valley Technical College plans to continue and expand in-person classes for the fall semester. Sixty-percent of students are learning in the classroom this spring. On-line classes will still be offered for those not comfortable returning to the in-person setting. On-campus tours will also resume in March. Clubs and organizations will also be allowed to begin planning fall events and activities across all F-V-T-C campuses and facilities.

By SHANZEH AHMAD | The Wisconsin State Journal | Published: February 21, 2021 (Tribune News Service) Both victims of a Tuesday plane crash in Janesville were celebrated pilots, and one was a valued member of the Madison-based Wisconsin Air National Guard 115th Fighter Wing and a decorated veteran. Staff Sgt. Remington K. Viney, 26, of Kimberly, and Tanner W. Byholm, 25, of Glidden, died in the crash about a mile south of the Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport shortly before 9:20 a.m. Tuesday. It was no secret that Staff Sgt. Viney had a passion for flying, the 115th Fighter Wing said in a Facebook post. Viney began her military career with the Wisconsin Air National Guard in December 2013 after graduating with honors from Sun Prairie High School in 2012. She enlisted as a crew chief and was assigned to the 115th Fighter Wing. In 2018, she began working full-time in the command post.

A man and woman in their 20s died in the crash. JANESVILLE - One victim of a fatal plane crash near Janesville was from Kimberly, and the other from Ashland County, authorities said Friday.  Remington K. Viney, 26, of Kimberly, and Tanner W. Byholm, 25, of Glidden, died in the crash, according to the Rock County Medical Examiner s Office. They were the only two people on board the Velocity V-Twin plane when it crashed at about 9:15 a.m. Tuesday just south of Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport in Rock County.
