Local students hear from Niagara Falls Culinary Institute

Executive chef Ben Loomis and hospitality instructor Daniel Dipirro from the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute recently spoke to juniors and seniors in the culinary arts program at the Wayne Technical and Career Center.
Students heard an overview of NFCI, including course offerings in baking, culinary and hospitality, and learned how to make dippin’ dots and ice cream from liquid nitrogen, as well as bananas Foster.
DiPirro and Loomis also discussed Savor Restaurant, which is run by NFCI students to help them learn all facets of the business.

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WKBW) â Niagara County Community College says it already has students enrolled in its first-ever culinary cannabis class.
The class, offered at the college s Niagara Falls Culinary Institute, is designed to educate chefs on safely creating cannabis-based dishes and edibles.
Chef Nathan Koscielski, an Associate Professor at the college, is leading the course. Kolscieski was part of the first-ever Specialization Certificate in Culinary Cannabis and Edibles from the American Culinary Federation. The certification is held by only 50 chefs in the country.
