Warrant Article Highlights
Article 8: To see if the Town will authorize the Board of Selectmen to convey to Hope’s state legislators, members of Congress, Governor and the President of the United States the town hereby calls upon our federal elected representatives to enact carbon-pricing legislation to protect Maine from the costs and environmental risks of continued climate inaction. To protect households, we support Cash-Back Carbon Pricing that charges fossil fuel producers for their carbon pollution and rebates the money collected to all residents on an equal basis with monthly dividend checks.

HOPE The Town of Hope will be holding a special town meeting Thursday, May 6 to vote on the new school budget for Hope Elementary School.
The meeting will be held at 6:30 pm. on the field of the school.
Article 1: Elect a moderator to preside
Article 2: Regular Instruction
• Regular Instruction PreK-8: $1,343,871 (up $19,195)
• Gifted and Talented: $32,281 (up $2,939)
Article 3: Special Education
• Instruction: $635,041 (up $25,389)
• Office: $54,395 (up $5,960)
Article 4: Career and Technical Education
The school committee recommends spending no money in this area.
Article 5: Other Instruction
• Co-curricular activities: $10,958 (down $100)
• Extra-curricular activities $18,339 (up $1,550)
Article 6: Student and Staff Support
The school and budget committees recommend $287,668.
• Elementary Guidance: $72,498 (up $2,667)
