MILWAUKEE â Faith leaders from across Wisconsin spent their Sunday morning praying for peace ahead of President-elect Joe Bidenâs inauguration Wednesday. Thereâs a lot of anxiety in the air, said Reverend Kerri Parker, executive director for the Wisconsin Council of Churches.
The prayer vigil comes following warnings of potentially violent protests in the days leading up to the transition of power. Thatâs why we have to come together to pray. To pray against that spirit. That spirit of evil, of division, of bitterness, said Pastor Walter Lanier, of Progressive Baptist Church.

The department urged the communities from various faith traditions to take the vaccine as the safest way to protect community members.
The Department of Community Development in Abu Dhabi (DCD) has organised a series of visits to non-Muslim places of worship in the emirate to help people get vaccinated against the Covid-19 pandemic. It comes as part of the ‘Choose to Vaccinate’ campaign.
The move is in support of the efforts of the UAE to promote vaccination against the virus, in line with the country’s ongoing precautionary measures to combat its spread and preserve the health and safety of all community members, citizens and residents alike.

Rioters weren t true patriots
A cult is defined by its excessive and unwarranted devotion to a person, place, or cause. What the nation saw on January 6th, 2021 at the national Capitol was the work of a cult. Donald Trump’s fervid supporters are not patriots, as Trump and some Republican politicians like Ted Cruz describe them. No true patriot would have paraded the stars and bars of the Confederacy through the Capitol; that never happened even during the Civil War.
No true patriot would have lowered our nation’s flag from it place on the Capitol, taken it from its lanyard, dropped it several stories to the ground like so much rubbish, and then hoisted a Trump campaign flag in its place.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Facts and faith: that has been the approach the Virginia Department of Healthâs Office of Equity has been taking in combination with community religious leaders.
This Friday, another âFâ was added: Fauci.
At the webinar, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nationâs top infectious disease expert and a member of the White Houseâs Coronavirus Task Force, pointed to data that said Black and Brown communities have been hospitalized and died from COVID-19 at disproportionate rates. A shot of hope is near, but there are questions about how soon until itâs here for everyone.

GREENSBORO, N.C. Triad Faith leaders are coming together calling for change.
They released a long statement denouncing the attack on the U.S. Capitol saying those responsible for the chaos need to be held responsible. There was nothing loving about that action on Wednesday. There was nothing just about that or faithful about that, Rev. Julie Peeples with Congregational United Church of Christ said.
