Hotels, B&Bs and holiday parks in the UK told Insider how they re preparing for guests this summer.
Over 27.6 million Brits have had at least one shot but hotel owners said this won t be mandatory.
Holiday parks will be opening April 12, while hotels and B&Bs will accept guests from May 17.
The holiday season is nearly upon us. But there s speculation about whether people in the UK will be able to travel abroad due to the increased worry of coronavirus variants spreading and cases rising.
This uncertainty, along with COVID-19 restrictions, is turning more people towards domestic holidays to visit the British coastline, country parks and smaller towns and cities.

My colleague and Editor-in-Chief of Travel Extra, Kevin Flanagan, has travelled on ski holidays with Irish family-owned tour operator Topflight for many years now, and always looks forward to the annual trip. And we’ve missed hearing his tales from the slopes, almost as much as he missed being there last year, having had to cancel his 2020 ski trip due to Covid.
So we’re delighted to hear that, on the back of an extremely difficult year for the travel industry, Topflight are looking ahead with a strong sense of optimism and positivity. However, it added: “We are planning for this date and working through the detail to understand exactly what this means for breaks from April 12 onwards.”
Since then, in a new update the holiday park operator, which has five sites across the UK, has issued further information for holidaymakers impacted by cancellations, as well as those who are now able to go ahead with their plans.
In its latest update, which was published on February 24, Center Parcs explained: “Following the Government announcement on their roadmap for re-opening society over the coming weeks and months, we are planning to reopen our UK villages and welcome our guests back from April 12.”
