Govt to implement US$200million Jobs and Skills Programme Finance Minister

Government is fast tracking the implementation of US$200million Jobs and Skills Programme to enhance job creation significantly.
The intervention is designed to facilitate new and expanded private sector businesses to employ many more people.
Mr Ken Ofori Atta, the Minister of Finance at the Minister s Press Briefing, said, this we believe is a more sustainable way to rebuild this economy instead of expanding Government employment schemes.
He said government was rolling over eight additional interventions, starting this May, 2021 under the Ghana CARES “Obataanpa” programme.

Akwanga (Nasarawa State), April 29, 2021 ( Stakeholders in Nasarawa North Senatorial District on Thursday urged the state government to prioritise rural development, education, and economic empowerment in its 2022 Budget.
The stakeholders made the appeal during a town hall meeting on citizensâ budget participation held in Akwanga, Akwanga Local Government Area.
They said that prioritising these three indices would help improve the peopleâs standard of living, boost socio-economic activities and the overall development of the state
The stakeholders added that prioritising rural development would also reduce youth restiveness and check insecurity in the state.
The town hall meeting, which was organised by the Budget Department, Nasarawa State Ministry of Finance, Budget, and Planning, had as its theme: âSocial Pact with the People: The Way Forward for Greater Development.â

CEO of the Global Media Foundation (GLOMEF) has stressed the need for Ghana AIDS Commission (GAC) to involve local Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), including the media in responding to HIV and AIDS in Ghana.
Raphael Godlove Ahenu said Community Base Organizations (CBOs), Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and Faith-Based Organisations (FBOs) are in direct contact and interaction with the people in their various communities, therefore, are in the best positions to help the Aids Commission respond to the disease by engaging in awareness creation”.
Speaking to Joy News in Sunyani he said the Commission’s effort alone cannot combat the dreaded HIV and AIDS and called for the engagement of other local stakeholders.

The Nasarawa State Government, on Tuesday, solicited the support of its citizens in budgeting, with a view to tackle the challenges facing various communities in the state.
This, the government said, was also to improve the standard of living of the people across all communities in the state.
Mr Haruna Ogbole, the State Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Planning, made the call at a town hall consultation meeting on citizens’ budget participation in Keffi, Keffi Local Government Area of the state.
The town hall meeting, which was organised for the Nasarawa West Senatorial district, had as its theme: “Social Pact with the People : The Way Forward for Greater Development.”
