LAHORE : PUNJAB Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid has said Punjab government is all set to scale up the contact tracing and increase the number of smart lockdowns in the wake of increasing number of coronavirus cases.
The minister said this during a meeting of National Command and Control Centre at the Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Department here on Saturday.
The meeting was attended by Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Secretary Barrister Nabeel Awan, Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department Secretary Sarah Aslam while Special Assistant to Prime Minister Dr Faisal Sultan, ghealth ministers of all provinces and officials participated in it via video link.

LAHORE: The oxygen supply to hospitals has been halted due to traffic jams on roads in the city on Monday.
The suspension of oxygen supplies to hospitals has endangered lives of critical patients due to prolonged traffic blockade on inter-city roads and main thoroughfares in the provincial metropolis. The activists of a religious outfit are protesting against the federal government to press for their demands.
Secretary Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department (SHC&MED) Nabeel Awan observed that the oxygen supply to hospitals has been halted due to traffic jams on roads in the city. “The halt in oxygen supply has endangered lives of the critical patients including those suffering from COVID-19,” he added. He appealed to the citizens to clear ways for ambulances and trucks carrying oxygen cylinders in order to ensure supply of oxygen in hospitals and help save precious lives of patients.

The number of patients in Punjab hospitals has doubled in the last four weeks, with over 8,000 patients admitted to hospitals in just the last few days.
Punjab Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Department Secretary Nabeel Awan gave this update while talking about the worsening situation of coronavirus in Punjab on Friday.
He said patient capacity is being increased in hospitals.
The number of coronavirus patients in Punjab is increasing rapidly, Awan shared, adding that the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic won t stop.
