And, after hours on the run, the suspect who is former law enforcement was taken into custody on Monday morning.

According to Austin-Travis County EMS, three adults were killed. The victims have been tentatively identified as two Hispanic females and a Black male. Officials say they believe the victims were all known to the suspect, but their exact relationship is unknown.

A manhunt was underway Sunday for a former sheriffâs deputy wanted in the fatal shooting of three people in Austin, Texas, as an official said it wasnât known if the suspect was still in the city. Interim Austin Police Chief Joseph Chacon said those who live near where the shooting happened late Sunday morning no longer had to shelter in place, but he said they should âremain vigilant.â He said officials were transitioning the search for Stephen Broderick, 41, from that area to a fugitive search.â

He killed his wife Amanda, daughter Alyssa and Alyssa s boyfriend Willie
Last June, Broderick was arrested for sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl
Police never named the child sex assault victim but they did say it was a family member whose mother reported the crime
He was bonded on $50,000 and told to stay 200ft away from his daughter Alyssa
In family court, Amanda said she feared he would seek revenge on her and the kids because the allegation had been made public
Amanda fought his release, saying he was SWAT trained and knew how to hurt someone
The shooting occurred on the 9600 block of Great Hills Trail, EMS said. Great Hills Plaza and The Arboretum shopping centers are near the location.
The suspect in the shooting, Stephen Broderick, remains at large, according to police.
First responders initially reported that three people were injured with gunshot wounds, and were receiving CPR. Officials later reported that three people had died on the scene.
No other injures have been reported at this time.
