Burlington, Ia- The Des Moines County Sheriff’s office has revealed details of an accident in rural Des Moines County.
On Sunday, April 4, 2021, at approximately 5:47 PM, deputies were dispatched to the area of 150th Ave and 165th St in reference to a vehicle accident. When deputies arrived, they found a vehicle that had wrecked into a ditch.
The driver 82-year-old Charles Leon Kuntz of Mediapolis, was taken to Great River Medical Center for evaluation.
The passenger of the vehicle, 84-year-old Doris Jean Kuntz of Mediapolis died at the scene. The cause of her death is unknown pending an autopsy.

Burlington man seriously injured in motorcycle accident on Tama Road
A Burlington man suffered serious injuries Saturday after a motorcycle accident along Tama Road.
Matthew Stephen Garwood, 42, was traveling south on Tama Road shortly after 3 p.m. Saturday atop a 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle when a deer crossed the road in front of him, according to the Burlington Police Department s accident report.
Garwood hit his brakes and was able to avoid hitting the deer, but he lost traction.
Skid marks left on the roadway indicate the motorcycle traveled 31 feet along the roadway before crossing the center line and traveling another 138 feet before going off the east shoulder of the roadway, where he traveled another 168 feet.
