THE beauties of nature have an important role to play in mental health well-being, says a Malvern-based charity. The charity, Association for Rehabilitation of Communication and Oral Skills (ARCOS), is speaking up in support of this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week, which starts on Monday, May 10. The week’s theme is ‘Nature’, after its organisers, the Mental Health Foundation, found that 45 per cent of people it surveyed said being in green spaces had been vital for their mental well-being during the Covid lockdown. ARCOS has been based in Great Malvern since the 1990s. It works to improve life for people with communication, eating drinking and swallowing difficulties, including children and adults with conditions such as cerebral palsy, learning difficulties, stroke and head injury.
