With all these names gone, it’s highly unlikely we’ll see them in the upcoming WWE 2K22 roster. Released talent are rarely kept in the video games unless they are fired closer to its release date.
While it’s sad to see these names not in the game, we could see the additions of The Great Khali and Rob Van Dam instead. These wrestlers weren’t in the recent WWE video games, but their 2021 Hall of Fame induction means they are likely to be in the WWE 2K22 roster.
The game was announced at WrestleMania 37, and it’s going to be released later this year. Sadly, we still don’t know what platforms the game will be released on yet. We should know more details about the game and its roster sometime later this year.
WrestleMania has had many labels, including the Showcase of the Immortals and The Grandest Stage of Them All, but recently been referred to as WWE’s SuperBowl due to the large crowd. For reference, the last time WWE did not have a stadium show for WrestleMania was at WrestleMania 22 at Chicago’s Allstate Arena in 2006. This past Sunday’s with social distancing still had more than WrestleMania 22’s attendance on each night.

Something to Wrestle With, Bruce Prichard spoke about WWE moving from arenas to stadiums for the event, saying he could see them one day going back to work at Madison Square Garden. Prichard believes the only way WWE would ever go back to hosting a WrestleMania in an arena is if it were on a special anniversary show.
