MARQUETTE On behalf of its 14 member hospitals, Upper Peninsula Health Care Solutions has made a $25,000 donation to Great Lakes Recovery Centers in support of its project to expand recovery services and relocate the Men’s New Hope House. GLRC’s Men’s New Hope House is a 16-bed residential facility for males over the age of 18 with a substance use disorder.
Last year alone, there were a total of 129 residents with the average length of stay being 42 days.
MARQUETTE TruNorth Federal Credit Union has chosen nine recipients for the 2019 TruNorth Community Grant.
Recipients include Upper Peninsula Family Solutions, Superior String Alliance, Cancer Care of Marquette County, Mia’s Wings, St. Francis Connection Center, Rotary Club of Ishpeming, Ishpeming Ski Club, Great Lakes Recovery Centers INC., and Hope Free Lutheran Church.
The TriNorth Board of Directors awarded the recipients in amounts of $1,000 or more. The funds will go to local non-profit organizations working to better our local communities by building handicapped accessible boat launches, providing education to local hospitals on infant loss, kitchen upgrades for community dinners, and much more.
