The USACE Jacksonville District has just released these beautiful photos from their Coastal Storm Risk Management Project in St. Johns County.
The work includes both dune and beach berm construction along approximately 2.6 miles of coastline from Vilano Beach to South Ponte Vedra Beach.

The project is designed to restore critically-eroded shoreline and dunes, St. Johns County officials said.
Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company is on track to complete fill operations by the end of December and then demobilization will start.
Planting of the dune grasses will begin March 2021, said USACE.
Work on West End of Grand Isle kicks off December 15, 2020, by Eldin Ganic
Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority
(CPRA) has officially started construction on an emergency beach nourishment project to repair the damaged shoreline at the West End of Grand Isle.
The work, undertaken by Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Corporation, involves emergency restoration work on the severely eroded storm damaged shoreline at Grand Isle in Louisiana.
This is a high priority unique coastal protection project for the State of Louisiana’s CPRA and the Town of Grand Isle.

The work is located on the gulf coast of southern Jefferson Parish. It is about 50 miles south of New Orleans and 45 miles northwest of the mouth of the Mississippi River.
