CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - With Mardi Gras coming up next week, one Charlottesville bakery is keeping a Fat Tuesday tradition alive. Great Harvest Bread Company is taking orders for king cakes.
The giant pastries are made with cinnamon chip bread and butter cream cheese frosting. The tradition says if you find the baby hidden inside the cake, it is good luck.

He was nominated by Kristy Pappenfus, who notes the amount of time the teacher puts into making sure every student gets the best education possible:
Mr. Percuoco is an excellent teacher 1st Grade teacher! He makes class fun and exciting for the kids. My son was nervous and scared about going distance learning and having to do his work on an IPAD. Mr. Percuoco took his own personal time out of his evening to do a 1 on 1 zoom call with my son and I to answer our questions and make my son less worried about the transition. That is truly going above and beyond. My son thinks 1st grade is SO fun and has really grown this year and I believe that is all thanks to this amazing teacher.
