Nathaniel Lawrence, who was raised in New Orleans, said the best solution is usually the simplest.
“If you give the guys money, they’ll pick up the trash. I mean it’s not rocket science,” said Lawrence.
A few weeks ago, Edna Posey had to be carried to an ambulance because the construction on her street in Central City made it impossible for EMS to park in front of her house.
“This is ridiculous the way we got to live. I’m sick and the ambulance cannot get to me,” said Posey.
At a time when essential workers are fighting for better pay, New Orleans firefighters said they deserve at least the same living wage that the City Council approved earlier this month for all contracted employees.

MCLENNAN COUNTY, Texas A Bruceville-Eddy police officer was charged with sexual assault of a child after an investigation found he paid a boy to have sex with him, according to an arrest affidavit.
The affidavit said Nathaniel Lawrence had sex with the victim the day after Thanksgiving.
Det. Joseph Scaramucci with the McClennan County Sheriff s Office said he first met the child Jan. 21 at McLane Children s Hospital. Nurses told Scaramucci the boy was possibly receiving financial benefit from adult men in exchange for sexual acts, according to the affidavit.

A Bruceville-Eddy police officer was arrested and charged with sexual assault of a child and prostitution of a minor after he allegedly arranged sex with a teenage boy.
Nathaniel Lawrence, 32, was booked into the McLennan County Jail on Jan. 26 and is being held on a $40,000 bond, according to online records.
According to an arrest affidavit, investigators were contacted about a possible domestic minor sex trafficking victim who was at the McLane Children s Hospital.
Hospital staff told the investigator that a boy was possibly receiving financial benefits from adult men in exchange for sexual acts.

A former Bruceville-Eddy Police Department officer has been charged after reportedly arranging to have sexual intercourse with a minor.

Police began investigating this case on January 21, when staff at McLane Children s Hospital in Temple alerted police that a teenage patient under the age of 17 might be a victim of sex trafficking.
Rhiannon Saegert with the Waco Tribune-Herald reports that the victim spoke with deputies about having communicated with a police officer via Facetime, and that they d met on at least one occasion last fall to have sex in exchange for money.
