NSW Health issue urgent alert for more COVID-hit venues in Greater Sydney
Woolworths and Aldi are among the new COVID-hit venues in Greater Sydney, after the NSW premier warned the number of coronavirus cases in the community while infectious is too high .

A medical centre and pharmacy have been named as new close contact coronavirus venues in Sydney as NSW braces for a spike in infections.
NSW Health listed the venues late on Thursday night, along with a Woolworths supermarket and Aldi store, after the state recorded 65 local cases.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian predicted the numbers would increase again on Friday as there were 28 cases infectious in the community – which she declared is “too high”.

The eastern suburbs of Australia s biggest city were locked down on the ninth day of the outbreak on June 26 when there were just 64 cases. The lockdown was extended to the whole city just two days later.
In contrast, Melbourne locked down its 10 worst-affected postcodes on day 35 of last year s outbreak on July 1, when there were already 446 cases in the community.

Five million NSW residents are facing at least another fortnight of lockdown following high numbers.
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian said that the number of new transmissions needs to be close to zero before lockdown ends, however there were 28 exposure venues added to the list, including Strawberry Hills Post Shop, Bonnyrigg Bunnings and supermarkets at fairfield heights, fairfield, Waterloo, Merrylands, Riverwood and Wetherill Park.
Numbers are continuing to rise in southwest Sydney and a new 24-hour COVID testing clinic has opened at Fairfield after people were forced to wait up to six hours in long queues at another venue.

The 65 new cases reported on Thursday were found in 58,299 tests to 8pm on Wednesday and take the state s latest outbreak to 929.
The outbreak emerged on June 16 after a Bondi limo driver who transports international aircrew contracted the virus.
Overnight, NSW Health updated their exposure sites list to include four bus routes, a McDonald’s and a post office.
