HOOVER, AL A high-speed police chase that spanned multiple counties in Alabama finally ended near the Riverchase Galleria Monday. A report by WBRC said Alabama State Troopers began the chase on I-59 in Tuscaloosa County just before 3 p.m.
The driver of the stolen vehicle merged onto I-459 North and exited at mile marker 10 in Hoover, then stayed on Alabama 150 toward U.S. 31, striking two Trooper vehicles before the chase ended at Galleria Blvd., WBRC said.
The driver was taken into custody, but has not been identified publicly.
One person is in custody after a two-county pursuit of a stolen taxicab that ended near the Riverchase Galleria. Shortly before 3 p.m. Monday, Alabama State Troopers tried to stop the taxi that was traveling northbound on I-59 inside Tuscaloosa County, said Trooper Justin O’Neal. The driver failed to stop and continued into Jefferson County. The chase traveled north, merged onto I-459 and .
Hoover hires Alabama Power for $9.4 million in energy upgrades

The Hoover City Council has agreed to hire Alabama Power to do $9.4 million worth of upgrades to the cityâs energy and utility systems.
However, the upgrades wonât cost the city any money, Hoover Mayor Frank Brocato said. âThis is not costing us a dime,â Brocato said.
