FAMILY and friends of a little girl with acute leukaemia have raised cash for Macmillan Cancer Support with a Mighty Hike in the Yorkshire Dales. Five-year-old Isabel Sewell, of South Cowton, was diagnosed with the disease in November, and is undergoing a gruelling two-year programme of chemotherapy. Whilst in hospital she was able to play with toys that had been provided by Macmillan, news that spurred Melanie Lawson, a friend of Isabel s grandmother, into fundraising action. After seeing the charity s Yorkshire Mighty Hike advertised on social media, Ms Lawson, of East Cowton, signed up. The event, on July 3, is a 26-mile walk starting at Malham and following the River Aire.
