Starting pitcher Drew Gillespie finished with six strikeouts and four hits, with no walks or runs allowed. The River Riders scored two runs in the top of the third inning off an RBI double by second baseman John Montes (UCF) to score designated hitter Sam Thompson (TCU) with no outs. Montes stole third and scored on the throwing error by Pulaski third baseman Mark Trotta (William & Mary) to make it 2-0 River Riders.
