Let s get to it: EDITOR S NOTE: In what has become an annual occurrence, I again provide what I hope serves as a cautionary tale for fans who have spent the last couple of days consuming the grades/critiques written in the immediate aftermath of the 2021 NFL Draft. In 1974, the NFL Draft was a two-day event, with the first five rounds being picked on the first day with the final 12 rounds picked the following day. What the Steelers accomplished on those two days in 1974 deserves to be recognized as the greatest accumulation of talent in professional sports history. Four of the team s first five picks are enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, a fifth Hall of Famer was signed as an undrafted free agent, and a sixth is the scout who had his fingerprints all over everything.

Cherokee Police Commission pushing for more communication - The Cherokee One Feather

Cherokee Police Commission pushing for more communication     For the last several months, the reorganized Cherokee Police Commission has been requesting more consistent information from the entities they oversee. This was again the primary topic of discussion on Thursday, April 22. The Commission discussed questions and concerns for the first 40 minutes of the meeting before bringing in the first guests to present. Frank Dunn had a list of questions that he wished to have answered by the Cherokee Indian Police Department (CIPD). He was concerned that he had not seen much of anything in terms of CIPD financials. Dunn said he had been collecting many of these questions from the community.

May 3, 2021 PITTSBURGH The Pittsburgh Steelers went into the 2021 NFL Draft with a plan and came away with a pretty perfect group of players. From fixing the run game to finding depth on defense and allowing a smoother transition for guys like Cam Sutton were all on the agenda, and were all accomplished through seven rounds. How big of an impact can the Steelers nine new rookies have in 2021, though? It s never easy to say a seventh-round pick will see the field, but maybe they will. And when you add a punter to the mix, everything gets even more interesting.

Fans, National Media React to Pittsburgh Steelers 2021 Draft Class - Sports Illustrated Pittsburgh Steelers News, Analysis and More

May 3, 2021 Much like every draft, the reactions and grades for the 2021 NFL Draft will be seen through the undefeated superpower that is: Hindsight. It s inevitable people (who cover football for a living or not) will give their two cents on any team s draft haul worth discussing, and the Pittsburgh Steelers were no different. After selecting running back Najee Harris in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, the Steelers sent avid black and gold followers in for a frenzy for the second and third day of the draft. However, the cookie crumbled, it crumbled in favor of the Steelers, at least in their opinion. It s natural for teams to walk away from their draft haul with excitement, proclaiming themselves as winners of the weekend. Yet how would Steelers fans and the national media rate general manager Kevin Colbert s job over the weekend?

TOMLIN, COLBERT COMMENT ON DRAFT

With nine draft picks and eight free agents added to the roster over the weekend, the Steelers begin the process of preparing the rookies for life in the NFL. The first four choices in the draft were offensive players: Running back Najee Harris, tight end Pat Freiermuth, guard Kendrick Green, and tackle Dan Moore, Jr. The next four were defensive: Inside linebacker Buddy Johnson, defensive tackle Isaiahh Loudermilk, edge rusher Quincy Roche and cornerback Tre Norwood. The final pick was punter Pressley Harvin III. Coach Mike Tomlin says the team looked for players with experience, and preferred guys who played last season versus those who did not.
