GEORGE TOWN: Nothing beats the spontaneity of face-to-face interaction, and parents and students alike had such an opportunity at Star Education Fair 2021, with strict Covid-19 SOP in place.
Vincent Pek, 53, who was at the fair to explore tertiary courses for his daughter Renne, 18, said that despite the availability of virtual correspondences with universities, it was not the same as meeting counsellors and educators in person.
“It has been tough visiting institutions during the Covid-19 pandemic. A fair like this is good exposure for the universities and a good chance for people like me to really understand them.

Merry Christmas, children! Christmas is a special day to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ. It is also a time of worship, family get-togethers, carolling and rejoicing.
During the Yuletide season, shopping malls are decorated with Christmas trees, giant gingerbread houses and colourful lights for that holiday feel.
However, due to the conditional movement control order because of the Covid-19 pandemic, celebrations have to be kept low key as everyone tries to stay safe. But it doesn’t mean we can’t have a jolly Christmas with our loved ones.
Let’s read what Starchild readers had to say on the topic, Merry Christmas.

Do you know what it means to save for a rainy day? Saving allows people to buy something in the future that they cannot afford now.
You may not be able to afford your favourite book, toy or game now but, if you set aside a few sen or ringgit every day or every week, you will collect enough to get it in a matter of time.
A piggy bank is an easy way to keep any extra coins and ringgit notes we have so they don’t get misplaced. Before you realise it, you would have saved enough to get yourself a treat.
