A RAIL partnership in Cheshire has gained accreditation from Department of Transport. It is a gold standard that confirms the Mid Cheshire Community Rail Partnership (CRP) operates to high standards of governance and financial proprietary and is a suitable entity for receiving public funds. The Mid Cheshire Line connects Chester with Manchester via Northwich, Knutsford and Altrincham and the CRP is the local organisation which provides the link between local communities on the Line and the rail industry. One of the key purposes of Community Rail is to provide a voice for the community and to communicate local people’s views and needs to the rail industry.
How the development would take shape. Image: Nuva Developments A SOCIAL housing developer is looking to build hundreds of new homes on a site in Northwich. Nuvu Developments, which is part of Your Housing Group, has lodged a planning application for 395 homes on land between Bowden Drive and Griffiths Park – including part of the former ICI Wade Works site. The land sits to the south of Wade Brook and on either side of James Street – with Lostock Works, the Renescience Northwich site and the Mid Cheshire Line all in close proximity. Nuvu s scheme would include 132 homes for affordable ownership plus another 132 for social rent – while 131 homes would go on the open market.
Cllr Kevin Rimmer is uring the community to play its part in defeating the virus CORONAVIRUS deniers and ‘Covidiots’ are again feeling the wrath of Northwich’s mayor following an impassioned plea for residents to follow the rules. Cllr Kevin Rimmer has previously spoken out against residents who refuse to wear a face covering or question the seriousness of the pandemic. And the Greenbank representative, who works at Lostock Lodge care home, made his feelings perfectly clear again in this week’s Northwich Town Council meeting. Following a discussion on the roll-out of the Covid vaccine and the recent rise in cases, Cllr Rimmer hit out at ‘the idiot minority that are breaking the rules’.
