Calls to vaccinate elderly at home after patients left waiting in the cold

A CONCERNED daughter is calling for health bosses to vaccinate elderly people in their own homes after claiming her father-in-law was forced to que for hours in the freezing cold.  Kerry Chidgey had to come to 81-year-old Frederick Chidgey’s aid at St Michael’s Health Centre in Braintree after he was left waiting for an hour and a half in the cold and rain for his first Covid vaccine jab.  The St Michael’s Health centre, on Rayne Road, Braintree opened as part of the biggest vaccination programme in NHS history. But, Kerry, who lives in Southend, said leaving the elderly and vulnerable outside is a “debacle” and “unforgivable”.
