Exit from recession result of our fiscal policies,says FG

THE federal government, Wednesday,said the country’s recent exit from recession was a direct result of its fiscal policies.
Government insisted that sustained implementation of good fiscal policies, the monetary policies and the economic sustainability plan by President Muhammadu Buhari led to the country’s exit from the recession which it noted d,was the shortest exit so far.
Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed, who,briefed State House correspondents,along side ministers of Information and Culture, Lai Mohamed and FCT, Mohammed Bello, at the end of the Federal Executive Council meeting, presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari, said the quick exit showed that government’s economic diversification efforts were yielding positive outcomes.

AS it would be expected, in early 2020, economic activities had not gained much traction before Nigeria fell to the ravaging coronavirus pandemic which was already causing major disruption of economy and commerce elsewhere a few months into the new year.
Thus, it could be safely inferred that much of the economic activities of the year was drowned, if you wish, by the disruption brought about by COVID-19.
However, with the benefit of hindsight, a cursory view of the economic activities in the last 12 months show that the roles played by a few individuals stand out in bold reliefs.

A SECRETARY in the office of Vice President Kembo Mohadi, Paul Damasane has made startling claims that Zimbabwe does not have an official language.
The top government official said for over 40 years, Zimbabwe learning institutions were only imparting lectures using the English language to the detriment of other languages and learners.
Damasane was speaking to media managers at the just ended National Development Strategy (NDS) media training in Gweru.
The NDS1 is a government first 5-year Medium Term Plan aimed at realising the country’s Vision 2030, while simultaneously addressing the global aspirations of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Africa Agenda 2063.
