CANTON-CPO (Conservation Police Officer) Brad Thomas lives in Canton and covers Fulton County, according to Sergeant Scott Avery-Illinois Conservation Police, Region I District 7 Supervisor.
Acting Deputy Chief, Jed Whitchurch, said in March CPO Thompson was on patrol at Banner March SFWA when a young man named Evan, excitedly flagged him down. He asked if CPO Thompson could assist in retrieving a dead buck that was floating in the water. CPO Thompson hauled the buck alongside his patrol boat. Once foul play was ruled out, CPO Thompson contacted a local taxidermist who performed the work on the mount for Evan at no charge.
