Germany to go into full lockdown starting Wednesday. In the face of rising infections, Chancellor Angela Merkel and Germany’s 16 state leaders have agreed to implement a stricter lockdown starting Wednesday, forcing all stores – except for those selling necessities – to close until 10 January, and most children to stay home wherever possible during that period.
