A vodka-fuelled rapist who subjected a child to grave sexual abuse and four people who hunted down a doting dad and murdered him were just some of the criminals locked up in the region in April.
Greater Manchester courts gave out hefty prison sentences for all manner of crimes last month.
Other offenders put behind bars include a road rage thug who left a man for dead and a paedophile who asked his victim s mum not to tell police he sexually assaulted her child.

WHILE crime is rarely a joking matter, this year has seen plenty of bizarre offences and hapless offenders hit the headlines in Bolton. The robber who threw baked bean tins at police officers Anthony Berry hurled tins of beans and other items out of his terraced home when officers tried to arrest him following a siege at his home. Paint, glass bottles, aftershave bottles, coffee jars and even boiling water were all thrown by Berry from his house on Vernon Street, Halliwell, causing the road to be sealed off.
