Akbar ‘forgives’ Chohan after apology over false claims

ISLAMABAD: Adviser to the Prime Minister on Interior and Accountability Mirza Shahzad Akbar has “forgiven” Punjab MPA Nazir Chohan, Geo News reported on Tuesday.
The PM’s aide had earlier asserted that Chohan ran a “fake campaign” against him, “putting his life, as well as those of his family at risk”.
“I lodged a complaint with the police and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) as a common citizen,” Akbar had said, adding: “Chohan was arrested as a consequence of allegations proving true against him during investigations, and I hope that I will get justice.”

Akbar stamped a written reconciliation as well. There will be no objection on the bail of Nazir Chohan, read the document. Akbar said Chohan had admitted his mistake and apologised.
Later, a sessions court in Lahore ordered Shahzad Akbar to appear in person or depute a representative to the court in order to pardon Nazir Chohan in the courtroom after the latter apologised for ‘mistakenly’ questioning faith of the premier’s aide. The court, while hearing a bail plea of Chohan in the case, issued notice to Akbar and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for a hearing scheduled on August 4.
LAHORE: A session court in Lahore on Wednesday approved bail of Nazir Chohan, a Punjab MPA associated with the Jahangir Tareen group, after Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Accountability Shahzad Akbar pardoned him after the former’s apology, ARY NEWS reported.
The court after a representative of Shahzad Akbar confirmed the contents of the affidavit approved the bail plea from Nazir Chohan and directed him to pay surety bonds of Rs100,000 to secure his release.
SAPM on Accountability Shahzad Akhbar Tuesday forgave Nazir Chohan, a Punjab MPA belonging to Jahangir Tareen group, after he offered an apology over his remarks.
LAHORE: Adviser to prime minister on interior and accountability Mirza Shahzad Akbar on Tuesday told a sessions court he would have no objection if PTI MPA Nazir Chohan was released on bail in a case registered by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on the complaint of the former.
An affidavit submitted before the court by Akbar’s lawyer said: “Accused Nazir Chohan admitted his mistake, sought an apology and showed remorse over his false allegations against the complainant for which the complainant had forgiven him in the light of Islamic injunctions of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) and for the sake of Almighty Allah.”

A Lahore sessions court approved PTI MPA Nazir Chohan’s bail and issued orders for him to be released after he reached an agreement with the complainant Shahzad Akbar, advisor to the PM.
Additional Sessions Judge Rashid Phularwan approved bail against a surety of Rs100,000. Chohan’s son Saad submitted the bonds after which the court issued the release order.
The FIA had arrested Chohan on charges of spreading hate speech against Akbar.
On Tuesday, Chohan and Akbar reached an agreement. Akbar said he had forgiven Chohan and has no objection to bail. The agreement said that Chohan has accepted his mistake and apologized to the advisor.
